Discovery Channel informs, entertains and inspires its audiences around the globe about the world in all its wonder, diversity and amazement. Offering millions of people the chance to discover, and satisfy their curiosity, Discovery offers a compelling mix of stories across genres including science and technology, exploration, adventure, history and in depth behind-the-scenes glimpses at the people, places and organisations that shape and share the world we live in.
We proudly present the Discovery optics series that is produced by Levenhuk and endorsed by Discovery.
Levenhuk Discovery Scope 3 set combines a microscope, a telescope, and binoculars in one kit. Except for optical devices, the kit includes more than 30 accessories and the "Space. Non-empty emptiness" knowledge book. The set has been created especially for people who haven't used optical devices before and want to try their hand at studying different subjects. The set is packaged in a brightly-colored box, making it an excellent gift.
Refractor telescope on a full-size tripod
The telescope included in the kit is an AZ refractor. It enables you to observe the Moon, bright night sky objects, and terrestrial landscapes. As the telescope is mounted to a full-size tripod, it can be easily adjusted to an observer's height. The operation is not difficult. The telescope can be rotated up, down, left, and right like a spotting scope. For the convenience of operation, the mount is fitted with a handy focus adjustment knob. The telescope is also supplemented with an optical finderscope, eyepieces, and a diagonal mirror.
The "Space. Non-empty emptiness" knowledge book provides a fast and effective way to learn more about astronomy. This colorful guide is written in an easy-to-understand language without complex terms. It describes the operation of a telescope and explains how to arrange observations and see interesting objects in the night sky. The book describes the Sun, the planets of the solar system and their satellites, comets, meteors, and distant stars.
Biological microscope with lower illumination
The optical microscope with lower illumination enables you to study any transparent specimens, such as prepared specimens (several samples are included in the kit additional specimens can be purchased separately). The set enables you to study thin specimen slices that you can make on your own using the tools included in the kit. You can also study life in a drop of water with this microscope.
The microscope provides magnification settings from 150x to 900x and has dual illumination. An integral light source has a mirror on one side and an LED on the other. If there is enough light, you can use the side with the mirror saving battery power. Use the light bulb in the dark room to avoid vision problems. The light bulb is powered by standard batteries.
Compact binoculars for hiking
The third optical device in the set is compact 4x magnification binoculars. Comfortable grip, very lightweight, and can be folded very small so that they can easily fit in a pocket or a bag. Suitable for a whole variety of activities including nature watching and city walks. Provides excellent image performance in bright daylight.
