Each braid is characterized by its level of difficulty; “Easy”, “Medium” and “Difficult” and how long it takes to braid and the things you need. 
On the historical fact pages you can read which historical sources Annette Collin used as inspiration for her Viking braids;The “Valkyrie ponytail with a tied knot,” which is based on a discovery of a Valkyrie figurine found in Denmark on the Danish island of Funen. The Valkyrie is armed with a sword and shield. It is a three-dimensional piece with detailed Viking costume and hair fashion from around the 9th century. The Valkyrie figure's detailed hair is tied into a ponytail with a bun on top of the head.The “Thorup Braids” are a fantastic find of over 2200 year old braids discovered during a peat mining operation in Thorup where a woman cut off her beautiful braids and offered them to the gods.The “Ellinge Woman Braid” the famous and dramatic discovery of a girl sacrificed over 2,000 years ago in the pre-Roman Iron Age in Denmark, found in a bog in 1938.
